Served with the expedition into the Podonymew District, in February 53; and at the subsequent pursuit and destruction of the King of Avas Troops under Moung Shoey Moung. Commanded the first Detachment of British Troops that ever crossed the Frontier between Prome and Tonghoo, in January 54. Served with, the expedition under Colonel Poole, Madras Army, on the Tonghoo Frontier, in February 54, and on the return of the Detachment back to Prome across the Frontier. Commanded at the storming of the entrenched Village of Yeh. Served in the disturbed Tharrawaddy District, nine months in Command of the advanced out-post of Tapoon. Medal, Clasp, and six months batta. Commanded three Companies of the 4th Sikh Infantry at the engagement in June 57, on the banks of the Sutlej, near Loodiana, with the Jullundur mutineers. (Dangerously wounded) Received thanks of His Excellency the Governor-General in Council. Medal. |
