Inscription  In Memory of Wellwood Geo Moubray MacLean, Captain 71st Regt NI who fell while gallantly serving with the small body of the Oudh Volunteer Cavalry, in the attack against the mutineers at Chinhut, on the 30th June 1857 aged 40. This tablet is erected by Nawab Mohsim-Ood-Dowlah Bahasoor of this city. As a token of his friendship and regard.
