Remarks  Mr Charlton joined the Mint as as an apprentice on the 1st January 1829 but left it and entered the Marine Department 15 March 1830. He again took his discharge on the 31st October 1833 and was employed in a private Steamer, he re-entered the service on the 10th July 1837. Mr Charlton is of halfcaste extraction and a very able respectable and intillegent young man.
