Inscription  Lewis Adonijah Mendes LLD (Lond) who laboured devotedly on behalf of the schools in this parish for over thirty five years. He died on the 19th day of September 1914. Also of Mary Lucretia Mendes his sister who lovingly shared in her Brothers labours she died on the 8th day of April 1915
