Inscription  In loving Memory / of / George Brunton, M.I.C.E. /Born in Birmingham 29th January 1823 / Died at Anerley London 28th March 1900 /For a Period of over fifty Years he resided in India /the greater Portion of which was spent in Cochin / For many Years he was Chairman of the Cochin Municipality /a Justice of the Peace and President of local Chamber of Commerce. /He filled these Offices with Distinction & was held in much esteem by all /It was always his earnest endeavour to promote the good of the People /and the Prosperity of the Port. / This Memorial is erected by / his sorrowing Widow /and Sons. / “The Memory of the Just is blessed”
