This lamented young man at the time of his death was magistrate of Humeerpore and Assistant to the Collector. He was killed by mutinous soldiers of the 56th N.I., forming the Treasury guard of the station. The intelligence rests on the authority of a native sub-assistant surgeon who made his escape from the mutineers. |
