CommentList of the Crew of East Indiaman "Royal Duke" engaged for her voyage to Fort St. David, Bombay, Surat and Canton. For the first phase of her voyage, she acted as a troopship conveying soldiers to Fort St. David as part of Admiral Boscawen's fleet to fight the French on the Coromandel Coast of India during the War of Austrian Succession.
