Details of Inscription  In memory of Philip Eyles Patton of the Hon EI Company's Service & Son of the late Col. Patton Governor of St Helena. He was for many years judge & magistrate of Mirzapore near Benares. Born 2nd November 1789. Died 24th October 1870. A just & sincere & generous man. This monument is erected to his beloved and honoured memory in testimony to true affection by his devoted widow Elizabeth Ann Patton.
