The deceased was well known in Bombay as one of the most respectable natives who had for so many years carried on a most extensive business in a highly creditable manner as a Merchant Agent and Broker. His family ranks high amongst the Parsees of Bombay; and of the hundreds of Parsees assembled to do honor to his mortal remains not one went away with dry eyes. Such was his acknowledged worth his kindness of heart his generosity and his benevolence that almost everyone of his acquaintances and relations feel as if they had been deprived of a father or a brother. In him the Parsees have lost one of the principal members of thier tribe abnd the world a good man. He left as heirs to his numerous Estates and large fortune two infant grandsons the children of a widowed daughter. They and a most numerous circle of friends now bemoan their irreparable loss. On a late occasion he received a Gold Medal from the present King of the French with a letter of Thanks for the many important services and assistance he had rendered to all the French Vessels trading with this port.
