America, 1774-81, was at Bunker's Hill and other actions : Adjutant-General in the Netherlands, 1794 : Maj-General : commanded a force to capture the Cape of Good Hope : on the arrival of Sir Alured Clarke's force from India the Dutch surrendered : Craig commanded at the Cape, 1795-7 : K.C.B., 1797 : commanded the Division at Benares, 1797- 1802, in a difficult time, during the massacre there : Lt-General, 1801 : commanded in Italy and Sicily, 1805-6 : Governor- General of Canada, 1807-11 : General, 1812 : died Jan. 12, 1812.
