He married 17th February, 1860, Ann Georgina (died 27th September, 1901), daughter of John White, Edinburgh, and had issue - Catherine Isabella, born 19th February, 1861 (married 19th January, 1907, James Cumming Raff Macdonald, WS, Dumfries); Robert John M.D., Newport, Monmouthshire, born 19th February, 1862, died from blood poisioning contracted in the course of a successful surgical operation, 16th November, 1907; Ann Georgina White, born 10th February, 1866 (married 1st June, 1897, Harry Renton Mein).
