Body of text  CHARLES MORRISON, born Cupar-Fife, 31st May 1828, son of Alexander Morrison and Elizabeth Latto, educated at Madras College and University of St Andrews, MA (1850), licensed by Presbytery of St Andrews, ordained as missionary to Newington, Edinburgh, 1857, acted as chaplain to the 79th Highlanders in India and the East from 1857-71, admitted to this charge (Laurencekirk) 27th November 1872, died 19th December 1890. He married (1) 21st March 1861, Jane (died 16th December 1879), daughter of W. A. Green, Inspector-General of Hospitals, Bengal, and Mary Stalkhart, and had issue – Cameron, born 27th April 1862, Alexander Hugh, born 10th April 1864, Mary Ellen, born 1st November 1865, died 25th December 1866, Jane Latto, born 7th June 1867 (Married William Stephen, minister of Garvock), Annie Latto, born 12th May 1869, Charles Keith, born 26th March 1871, died 2nd June 1890, Mary Ellen, born 9th August 1873, William Stalkhart, born 24th May 1876, (2) 18th November 1885, Margaret (died 30th September 1924, aged 90), younger daughter of David Dickson, banker, Laurencekirk.
