Register Entry  At Batavia on the 22d October after a residence in Java of 28 years John Davidson Esq in the 49th year of his age. His well known unblemished character and many social virtues secured him the esteem of all who knew him and he died as he lived, respected by a large circle of friends and acquaintances. The corps of Militia Calvary which he commanded for fifteen years turned out voluntarily and escorted his remains to their last resting place
