Register Entry  On the evening of the 6th March at his residence No 16 Theatre Road Chowringhee Major Gavin Young 70th regiment native infantry and judge advocate-general of the Bengal army after a protracted illness most sincerely and deservedly lamented by a numerous circle of friends: aged 55 years. The unostentations and high character for ability enjoyed by the deceased combined with no ordinary acquirements as a scholar will long be remembered while his disconsolate widow and large family have to deplore the loss of one of the best of men
