Entry  Daughter of the first Lord Chelmsford : married to Sir John E. W. Inglis, K.C.B. (q.v.), who defended the Residency at Lucknow in the mutiny : in recognition of his services she received a pension. She herself went through the siege of 87 days and published The Siege of Lucknow, a Diary, 1892 : she was shipwrecked off Ceylon on her way home : died on Feb. 3, 1904.
