Entry  On the 12th of May last was drowned, whilst bathing alongside, the Victory, Mr. C.N. Phillips, surgeon of that ship, and second son of Nathaniel Phillips, Esq., of Haverfordwest; whose ability (remarks The Englishman, a Calcutta journal, from whose columns we obtain this) and unremitting zeal and attention to his professional duties, and mild and gentlemanly conduct, rendered his loss irreparable to every one on board. His melancholy fate is deeply lamented by his friend and commander.""
