Service  Lieutenant Humphry served under Brigadiers Showers, Gerrard, and Seaton, in the Delhi and Allyghur Districts, in 57, as Field Engineer, in Command of a Detachment of Muzbee Sappers. Present at the actions of Narnoul, Gungeeree, Puttiallee, and Mynpooree, and capture of Fort Jhujjur. Severely wounded at Narnoul, 16th November 57. Mentioned in the Despatch of Captain Caulfleld, 58. Acted as Brigade-Major to the Engineer Brigade, under Sir J. Hope Grant, on the march from Futtehghur to Alum Bagh, February 58. Served as Adjutant of Engineers at the Alum Bagh and capture of Lucknow, February and March 58. Brought to notice of the Commander-in-Chief in the Despatch of Sir R. Napier, 16th March 58. Served with the Force under Brigadier General Walpole, in Oude, and under the Commander-in-Chief, in Rohilcund, in 58; also under Brigadier Troup, in Oude, 58, 59. Present at the attack on Fort Rhuyah, action at Allygunge, capture of Bareilly, 58; capture of Fort Mittowlee, actions of Biswah and Allygunge, 58, 59. Brought to the notice of the Commander-in-Chief in the Despatch of Brigadier Troup, 58. Medal and Clasp
