Service  Captain Lowther served during the Punjab Campaign, 48, 49. Present throughout the 1st and 2nd siege operations before Mooltan, including the action of Sooroojkhoond and battle of Goojerat. (Wounded.) Medal and 2 Clasps. Served with the Force employed in the annexation of Oude, 56. Served during the Mutinies, 57, 58. Received a letter of approval from the Lieutenant-Governor of Bengal on the successful capture of the Sarung Rajah, and other conspirators who had tampered with the Troops in Assam. Commanded the first expedition against the Abor Tribes, 58; and served against them again in 59.
