Service  Captain Norgate served with the force under Major Jackson and Lieutenant-Colonel Chamberlain, against the rebels in the Googaira District, October and November 57. Present at the Mutiny at Mooltan, 31st August 58; and sent in pursuit of the mutineers with 50 men of the 11th Punjab Infantry, and 1 Troop, 6th Irregular Cavalry. Came up with the mutineers after a forced march of 57 miles, and destroyed nearly 500 of them. Received the approbation of the Punjab Government, 17th September 58.Received the high approbation of Government, 27th September 58. Received the thanks of the Home Government, 7th April 59. Commanded the 12th Punjab Infantry in the operations against the rebels in Bundlecund, under Brigadier Wheeler, in October, November, and December 59. Medal.
