Inscription  Alexander Bryson a Volunteer who was killed, on the 9th July, 1857, within the residency defences, While singly building. Under a deadly fire, a baricade for the safety of his post. A duty he volunteered to perform. He was honorably mentioned in the oddicial report of that memorable defence. Aged 37 years.
