Service  Lieutenant Moriarty was present with HMs 34th at the actions at Cawnpore, on the 26th, 27th, and 28th of November 57, under General Windham; likewise at the attack and capture of Fort Meangunge, on the 24th of February, under Sir Hope Grant; also present at several minor engagements, near Bunnee Bridge, in Oude; was also present during the whole of the operations before Lucknow, and at the taking of the city; was present with HMs 93rd Highlanders at the attack on Fort Rooya, and in the action at Allygunge, in Oude, under Major-General Walpole, likewise at the action at, and capture of, Bareilly, in May 58. Was also present with the 66th Goorkha Light Infantry at the actions at Pusgaon, 19th October; Russoolpore, 25th October; and action at Bishwah on the 1st December 58, under Brigadier Troup, Medal and Clasp.
