Body of text  LEWIS J THOMAS, OBE, born 2nd February 1883 at Llangefni, North Wales; educated at Nottingham Paton Congregational College 1906-11; appointed to Telugu Field of London Missionary Society, and ordained as missionary to ministry of Congregational Union of England and Wales 11th October 1911; appointed Head of Union Theological Seminary for training of Indian pastors 1928; appointed Secretary-Treasurer of London Missionary Society work in India March 1939; retired from London Missionary Society 1st April 1949; appointed to Bangalore St Andrew's as from 1st February 1950; admitted by General Assembly May 1950; retired September 1955. Married.
