Detail  [Pages 100-102. Aged 69. 2nd son of James Tobin, esq. of Nevin. Born at Salisbury, 13 Dec 1768. Entered navy in 1780. As a midshipman, unemployed during peace, and served as mate in an East Indiaman, and made the voyage to China between 1788 and 1790. As captain of the Princess Charlotte escorted the East India fleet home from St Helena, 1809. Presented with 200 guineas by the EIC to buy plate]
