Detail  [At his house in Portland Place, aged 75. Appointed a cadet in 1782, and arrived in Madras in June 1783. Learnt Mahratta. In 1793 visited England because of ill health. Resident at Tanjore, in 1801, served there for 22 years. His will has been proven in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, the bulk of his £45,000 fortune goes to his widow, proven by his brother]
