He landed in the Peninsula in May 1813, and served there until the end of the war, including the siege of San Sebastian, at the assault of which fortress he was wounded with the forlorn hope, the 31st Aug. 1814, in storming the heights of Vera, as a volunteer, and was present at the battles of the Nivelle, Nive, Bayonne, Garrise, Orthez, and Toulouse. |
