Detail  At Chunar, in India, the Rev. William Bowley, who, for nearly 30 years, was one of the most active and able of the missionaries of the Church Missionary Society. The translation of the Bible into Hindee was entirely his work, and most of the tracts which have been circulated in that language came from his pen, or were revised and improved by him. He was a native of India, and was first brought forward by the late Bishop Corrie; from that time he ever maintained the highest character, in public and in private.
