Detail  [Pages 619-620. In Chapel St., Belgrave Square, aged 80. Son of Archibald Keir, esq., EIC, by his marriage with Miss Bruce of Kinloch. Cornet 15th Dragoons in 1790. In May 1806 appointed Adjutant General to HM forces, India. Served in the East Indies for 15 years. In 1815 was appointed commander in chief of the forces in Java, ""and second member of Council"". Married in 1811 Miss Jackson, dau. of Capt. Jackson, R.N.]
