Inscription  In memory of Captain James Armar Butler, half pay, Ceylon Rifle Regiment, who died June 21, 1854, aged 27, at Silistria, on the banks of the Danube, from wounds received whilst gallantly aiding the Turkish forces in their heroic defence of that fortress against the Russian Army.
