CommentTranscriptions taken from Graves at Serampore Johnnagore Bapt CNI Church (John the Baptist) and Old Cemetery, Serampore (Bengal Presidency).

These photographs were taken by members and friends of FIBIS who went on a Family History Tour of East India in 2015. Our thanks to Brenda Boggild and Greta Lawrence who took the photographs and have permitted FIBIS to share them.

Inscription  Henry Allen Williams commercial resident at Jungypore son of Lye? Williams Esq of London. Born in London 15 Feb 1788 arrived at Calcutta in Sept 1804 was baptized at Serampore in Aug 1808 In September 1818 he married Susanna Lydia Marshman and having adorned his profession in an exemplary life and con[vers]ation for the space of five years he followed her to the realms of bliss? on the 5 of Oct 1823 leaving an infant son and daughter and by his own express desire he lies interred at her side. Here also lies interred the * of Honoria Floriano? Williams * * * [Henry?] Allen Williams Esq * * 1819
