Service  Lieutenant Baillie served throughout the Campaign 1857-58-59. Orderly Officer to Brigadier General Nicholson in the engagement with the Sealkote Mutineers at Trimmoo Ghaut, near Goordaspore, 12th July 1857. Served with Brigadier Seaton's Column at the action of Ghungeree, Puttialee, and re-occupation of Mynpoorie, December 1857. At Kankur, Eohilcund border, April 1858. With the Soraon Field Force at taking of Forts Dehain and Tirrowl, July 1858. With Brigadier Kelly's Force during the operations in the Terai. Present atthe actions of Ruthunpore, 25th March 1859. In the attack on the rebel's position, Lower Nepaul Range, 28th March 1859. (Wounded severely.) Trimmoo Ghaut, 12th July 1857. Wounded severely with Brigadier Kelly's Force, Nepaul Frontier. Medal. Mentioned in Despatch of Brigadier Kelly, Commanding Field Force, Nepaul Frontier, 1859. (Passed examination in Punjabee.)
