Service  Captain and Brevet-Major Baugh served with Major-General Sir G. Pollock's, G.C.B., Force in Affghanistan in 1842; with the Army of the Sutlej in 1846 ; in the Burmah Campaign in 1853, and in the Indian Mutiny 1857-58. Present at the actions of forcing the Khyber Pass, Mamoo Khail, Jugdulluck, Tazeen, and Istaliff in 1842; Moodkee, Ferozeshuhur, and Sobraon in 1845-46 ; against the rebel Burmese, near Prome, in 1853; and the action of Chinpoorah in 1858. 4 Medals and 2 Clasps. Mentioned in the Despatch of Colonel J. K. McCausland, Commanding in Kumaon, 1st March 1858. Received the thanks of Government and of the Secretary of State for India, 30th November1858. Promoted to the rank of Brevet-Major for services in the Indian Mutiny.
