Service  Lieutenant Boileau commanded a Detachment of Rajah Jawahir Sing's Contingent, under General VanCortland, in Hurrianah, from Lahore, 18th July 1857. At Ferozepore took charge of 2 guns of General Van Cortland's Force. Present at the action of Hissar, 19th August 1857. Served under Brigadier Troup in 1858. Present at the action of Biswah. Served with the Saugor Field Force under General Whitlock, 1859. Commanded Squadron of 2nd Sikh Cavalry at the action of Kewtee in Bundlecund, under Brigadier Faddy, March 1859. Served under Brigadier Wheeler, 1859 ; under Colonel Shubrick, in the Sohagpore District, 1860. Wounded. Wounded dangerously with sabre cut in the face, at Hissar, also in the hand, 19th August 1857. Wounded at Kewtee, 4th March 1859. (Pistol shot in knee.) Medal. Mentioned in the Despatch of Lieutenant Mildway, 19th August 1857, and in that of Brigadier Faddy, March 1859. Received the thanks of the Governor-General. Service especially recognized by the Commander-in-Chief, and received the thanks of the Governor-General, 1859.
