Service  Assistant-Surgeon Brake served with 7th Punjab Infantry in charge of Brigadier General Nicholson's Staff and Bourchier's No. 17 Battery on the march to Camp before Delhi, August 1857. Served with 2nd Sikh Cavalry in the Oude Campaign with Brigadier Colin Troup's Columns, at the fight at Biswah, and subsequently in pursuit of Feroze Shah under Captain Campbell and Colonel Brind. Served with General Whitlock's Field Force in Bundlecund from February 1st to April llth 1859. Had medical charge of Captain Wright's Column. Present at the fight of Tinleepanee, 29th March '59. Served with Brigadier Wheeler's Column in Bundlecund from 13th October '59. In charge of Captain Wright's Column from 15th October to 5th December '59. Mutiny Medal. Services mentioned in the Despatch of General Whitlock, published General Order, Commander-in-Chief, No. 790 of '59, and in that of Brigadier Wheeler, not published.
