Service  Colonel Brind, C.B., commanded the Foot Artillery of the Delhi Field Force from 26th June to end of operations in 1857; commanded the Troops and Light Column in the Mozuffernugger, &c., District for three months, from December '57 to March '58 ; commanded the 3rd Brigade Horse Artillery and united Artillery Brigade of General Walpole's Field Force during its march from Lucknow to Alligunj, and in the affairs of Rooyea and Allygunj ; commanded the Artillery Brigade under Lord Clyde's personal direction through Rohilcund and at the capture of Bareilly; commanded the Artillery Brigade with Brigadier Colin Troup's Column in Oude 1858-59 ; at the engagements of Modypoor Russulpoor, Mittowlee, Allygunj, and Biswarrah, also the Light Troops in pursuit; commanded the Light Column in pursuit and defeat of the Rebel Army under Prince Feroze Shah Khan Bahadoor and other Chiefs taking all their Artillery, ten guns, stores, &ä., &c., at Mehuddee; commanded a Cavalry Column in pursuit of Feroze Shah through Oude towards Central India to the point assigned; made a C.B. for Delhi and a Brevet-Colonel, at close of the Campaign. Medal, with Clasp for Delhi
