Service  Brevet-Lieutenant-Colonel C. Cureton was present with the Army of the Sutlej in 45, 46. Served as A. D. C. to Brigadier-General Cureton, Commanding the Cavalry Division in the Punjab Campaign, and was present at Ramnuggur, passage of the Chenab, and battle of Goojerat; accompanied Sir W. Gilberts Column in pursuit of the Sikh and Affghan Army in 49; occupation of Peshawur. Medal and Clasp. Served against the Sealkot Mutineers under General Nicholson in 57, and likewise against the Googaira insurgents. Commanded the Mooltanee Regiment of Cavalry throughout the Campaigns in Rohilcund and Oude, 58, 59, including the actions of Bhagwala (Charger wounded); Nagena (Charger wounded); Bareilly, Shahjehanpore, and Bunae, under Brigadier-General J. Jones; Shahabad, under Brigadier Taylor; Bunkagaon, under Sir Thomas Seaton (in actions under General Jones, Brigadier Taylor, and Sir T. Seaton had also charge of the Intelligence Department,) and Mahadypore, Russoolpore, Fort Mittowlee, and Biswa, under Brigadier C. Troup. Medal. Has been eleven times mentioned in Despatches, seven times honorably.
