Commanded the 11th Irregular Cavalry at the battle of Sooroojkhoond, in the vicinity of Mooltan; also during the siege and surrender of that Fortress in 48, 49- and subsequently at the battle of Goojerat, and in the pursuit of the Sikhs and Affghans by the Force under Sir Walter Gilbert. Medal, 2 Clasps and Brevet-Major. Present at the siege and defence of Lucknow from 30th June to 22nd November 57. Brevet-Colonel and C.B., and one years extra service.
