Service  Lieutenant Pearson was present at the mutiny of the late 6th Native Infantry, at Allahabad, in June 57. Served in the operations in retaking the City and Cantonments of Allahabad from the rebels, with the Force under Sir Henry Havelock. Was present at the actions of Futtehpore, Aong, Pandoo Nuddee, Cawnpore, Oonao, Busseerutgunge (1st and 2nd), Barby-ka-Chowky, Bithoor, Mungulwar, Alum Bagh, and 1st relief of Lucknow. Served with the Garrison of Lucknow until the final relief of that city. Medal and Clasp. Mentioned in Despatch, 30th December 57. Present at the action of Cawnpore, 6th December 57. Served at the re-occupation of Rohilcund, in 58. Served in the Cawnpore District in the pursuit of Ferozeshah, with the Force under Brigadier Herbert, in December 58. Mentioned in Despatch, 24th January 59. Served in the Saugor District in 59, and commanded a Field Detachment, consisting of 1 Squadron of the late 3rd Irregular Cavalry and Detachments of Police Infantry. Received three times the approbation of His Excellency the Governor-General. Received letter from the Secretary of State for India, conveying his approbation for services in the Field. Served as Staff Officer to the Bundlecund Field Force in 59.
