Service  Assistant-Surgeon Wright served with the 1st Division of the Goorkha Force, from the Nepal Frontier, through Chumparun, to Goruckpore, Jounpore, Azimghur, and the South-East Frontier of Oude, from June 57 to March 58, including the affair of Guggah, 13th December 57 ; the action of Mondree, 20th September 57; capture of Fort Atrowlea, October 57, and its re-capture, November 57. Acting Civil Surgeon of Azimghur, from March to May 58, and was in the retrenchment during the whole period of its investment by the rebel Kooer Singh, till relieved by General Lugard, 26th March to 15th April 58. Mentioned in Despatches of General Sir J. H. Franks, and received thanks of Government. Medal.
