Service  Captain Young served during the Sutlej Campaign. Present at the siege of Kot Kangra, in April 46. Served throughout the siege of Mooltan, and was noticed by General Whish in his Order, 23rd January 49. Medal. Commanded 2,000 Irregulars and reduced the Fort of Hurrund, in the Lower Derajat, and disarmed the disaffected Futley-pultun, for which he received the warm approbation of the Governor-General.
