Body of text  BERRY PRESTON, born Springburn, 3rd December, 1881, son of William P and Martha Hall; certified teacher in Whifflet Public School, Coatbridge, 1906-7; educated at Univeristy of Glasgow; MA (1906), BD (1910); licensed by Presbytery of Glasgow March 1910; assistant at Stevenston April 1910 to February 1911; locum tenens Calcutta Jute Mills and Steamers Presbyterian Mission February 1911 to August 1912; assistant at Springburn 3rd April, 1913; translated and admitted 24th October, 1917. Married 7th September, 1915 Jessie Capie, MB, ChB, daughter of Thomas Russell, schoolmaster, Busby, and Janet Brockett Capie, and had issue - William Berry, born 11th July, 1916; Janet Capie, born 20th April, 1918.
