Body of text  ALEXANDER WALKER, licensed by Presbytery of Madras for service in India, agent of the Ladies' Association at Madras in 1847, ordained missionary at Madras 11th March 1855, appointed assistant chaplain at Madras 30th June and admitted by Presbytery of Edinburgh, 28th September 1859, subsequently chaplain and senior chaplain, admitted to this parish (Rescobie) 19th October 1880, died 28th June 1899. He married (1) 28th December 1848, Robina Easton (died 19th November 1875, aged 52), daughter of Robert Hunter, banker, and had issue – Helen Condie, born 15th November 1849, died 17th July 1863, Alexandrina, born 16th November 1851 (Married. ---- Campbell, Solicitor, Edinburgh), Hunter Urquhart, physician in England, born 19th January 1857, Robina Easton, born 30th January 1859, died 12th December 1892, Eliza Frances, born 5th, and died 14th April 1861, Kate Stewart, born 3rd November 1865 (Married John Williams, Wishaw), died 28th December 1922. (2) 8th January 1880, Mary Mowbray, daughter of preceding minister, and had issue – Ernest Alexander, MD, IMS, born 20th October 1880, Dora Mary, MB, CM (Edinburgh), resident medical officer, Holloway Prison, London, born 12th September 1882.
