Service  Colonel Dunsford C.B., served as Major of Brigade, 7th Brigade, 3rd Division Army of the Sutlej. Present at the battle of Sobraon. Medal and Brevet-Major. Commanded the Troops of the Rajahs of Puttialla and Jheend, during the siege of Delhi. Present at the storm and capture on 14th September 57. Medal, 2 Clasps, and C. B. Commanded the Buxar Column of the Shahabad Field Force in October and November 58. Commanded at the attack of Burahpore on the 14th October 58, where the rebels in force were driven out of a strongly entrenched position, and routed with great slaughter. Defeated an attack of the rebels at Sikurreea, on 16th October 58, and in other skirmishes leading to the successful attack on the Town of Jugdespore, on 19th October 58, where he was very severely wounded. Served in Assam in 62, during the disturbances there.
